Underworld Scuba - Scuba Shack

WHY TWO NAMES?

Underworld Scuba has been doing business for more than 19 years as an American company. After moving to Mexico in 1987, it was discovered that Mexican citizens, including Underworld Scuba's employees, had a difficult time pronouncing the word "world" since the vowel and consonant combination in "world" do not appear in the Spanish language.

A decision was made to change the name so that it would have meaning in both languages. Now, Scuba Shack, or "La Cabaņa del Buceo," can be easily interpreted in both English and Spanish. But for those customers, who have always known us as Underworld Scuba (and for our suppliers with whom we have a long-term relationship), we will remain "Underworld Scuba."
